Helping Women Achieve Social Mobility

Here at Levi Strauss & Co., we believe in providing pathways for women around the world to be successful in the workplace. That’s why we’ve been partnering with the nonprofit Daughters of Tomorrow (DOT) since 2021. Established in 2014 and based in Singapore, DOT provides opportunities and support to economically challenged women to help them on their journey toward social mobility and financial independence.

As part of our partnership, LS&Co. has donated office furniture and IT equipment to enable the organization to create offices and provide skills training. Last year, we took our partnership to the next level, offering employment opportunities to DOT beneficiaries.

“My journey at LS&Co. has been wonderful,” said Jumimah, a beneficiary who was hired to complete a one-year contract at LS&Co. as a trade compliance data entry assistant. During her time here, Jumimah worked closely with her hiring manager, Girish Pillai, and team member Keith Tse to get trained on the ins and outs of her work and develop the skills she needed to work independently. “I have learned a lot and appreciate the skills and knowledge that I have gained. Not only have I enjoyed my job here, but I have also enjoyed getting to know everyone at LS&Co.,” she said.

Thanks to the work of employees like Girish and Keith, LS&Co. received DOT’s Advocate Award at their Annual Gala Dinner this past spring. The award recognized and celebrated our partnership and commitment to help these women build a brighter future for themselves and their families. Rebecca Lim, director and HRBP, SEA, and Linda Gan, HR manager, accepted the award on LS&Co.’s behalf.

“We are proud of our work with DOT and look forward to welcoming more women like Jumimah to LS&Co. as we continue partnering to provide more pathways for women to achieve success in the workplace,” said Rebecca.
