Thrive Global: One Year In

Levi Strauss & Co.

Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic turned everything on its head. As our employees around the world found themselves thrust into incredibly stressful and challenging situations at work and at home, we knew we needed to act.

That’s why Levi Strauss & Co. partnered with Thrive Global to help our employees take a tailored approach to managing stress and their mental well-being in the way that works best for them.

“Our employees’ health and safety are our top priority here at LS&Co., and that includes their mental health and well-being,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Tracy Layney. “Partnering with Thrive Global was a natural next step. While we had an existing relationship with them, in this unprecedented time Arianna Huffington and her team reached out to us with additional science-backed resources, ideas for live webinars and guidance tailored to us — not to mention, access to the Thrive Global app.”

It was full steam ahead with our partnership from day one. Over the coming months, we brought dozens of resources, webinars and workshops to our global teams. For example, employees took the Thriving Mind assessment to discover their biotypes and find out their unique stressors, then joined workshops to learn about their stress responses and those of their loved ones. Joey Hubbard, Thrive Global Chief Training Officer, also became a regular virtual visitor at LS&Co., presenting monthly to employees on ways they can support their colleagues through stressful times, ways they can bring movement to each day, manage financial stress and more.

Now, as we near the one-year anniversary of our partnership and enter a new phase of pandemic life, we’re ready to take our work with Thrive Global to the next level. This includes rolling out even more tools and resources to employees, like new programs in the Thrive Global app that feature the latest science-inspired storytelling and actionable microsteps. One of these is the new Working Families program, which can help you explore ways to manage your home and relationships just like you manage your professional life — by setting boundaries, improving communication and implementing systems that help you truly thrive.

And this is just the beginning; the team plans to unlock even more programs in the app in the coming months.

“We know that change has become the new normal — and making sure our employees feel confident in their ability to navigate that as the pandemic evolves will be key as we create a new culture of work rooted in employee well-being,” Tracy said.
