Get to know our new leaders at Levi Strauss & Co. through these Quick Qs. In this edition, meet Brandon Stephens, who recently joined the company as our new Head of Diversity and University Recruitment.

What is your new role at LS&Co.?

I lead LS&Co.’s efforts to hire top diverse and early career talent. My job is to build strong partnerships with universities and talent programs and create a strong talent brand that excites candidates to join our company!

What attracted you to the company?

The iconic brand, authentic leadership, commitment to diversity and the opportunity to join a company and be unapologetically “me.”

What is your vision for your team?

To create best-in-class early talent and diversity programs that address the needs of today while also laying a foundation that will infuse the organization with strong talent for years to come.

What does success look like in your job?

Success is LS&Co. being known as a powerhouse where top diverse talent can come, stay and grow their careers.

Do you have a favorite personal story about LS&Co. or one of our products?

I am a Midwest kid with Southern roots. My parents migrated to the north for better job opportunities; neither had a college education, so they landed at Chrysler as assembly line workers and worked hard to provide for their family. Their day-to-day uniform for the next 30 years consisted of Levi’s® jeans, collared shirts and Rockport boots. As a kid (under 10), I distinctly remember putting on my dad’s oversized pants, boots and running around the house with my twin brother.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Be bold. Make mistakes. Tell your story.
