These are the leaders, risk-takers and visionaries leveraging technology to transform the fashion industry and stay ahead of the innovation curve.

Marc Rosen, executive vice president and president of global ecommerce for Levi Strauss & Co., was recognized among 25 leaders within the fashion industry who are disrupting business for the better by keeping a finger on the technological pulse and adapting accordingly.

Marc and his team have worked hard on LS&Co.’s direct-to-consumer model, keeping the consumer top of mind. “It’s about how you use technology and how you partner with those who can drive innovation to bring a solution to the consumer,” Marc told PSFK this year. “We’re a 145-year-old brand, and we continue to innovate every day. Our innovation has shifted heavily to digital because that’s the way the consumer’s shopping now.”

The Defiant 25 list was compiled by The Lead, a new venture from Timo Weiland, investment banker-turned-fashion designer, and Noah Gellman, who has worked in start-ups, venture capital, and business development, according to Forbes. Bridging the fashion and retail industry with Silicon Valley, the vetting process for this year’s list included research into why some brands made it and how much technology and digital adoption had to do with the success stories. It also involved looking at the company, historical numbers, growth, market performance and future projections.

Those who made the list include leaders from Amazon, Ralph Lauren, Target and Nike, among others. The Defiant 25 will be honored at The Lead Assembly on June 21st in New York City.
