As the academic commencement season wraps up, we’re proud to share some highlights from LS&Co. President and CEO Chip Bergh’s recent commencement speech at his alma mater, Lafayette College. Chip, class of ’79, delivered two commencement addresses — one to the class of 2022 and one to the class of 2020, who returned to campus two years after graduating via a virtual ceremony.
He told the graduates, “What’s most important is not the lives you live, but rather how you live those lives.” Watch his commencement speech to the class of 2022 to hear his full range of insights and stories shared — from how a pair of boots changed his life to why it’s so important to move beyond top-down, “20th century leadership” to face 21st century problems.
In addition, Chip joined Lafayette President Nicole Farmer Hurd for a special edition of the Lafayette’s ‘Need a Lift’ show. Chip shared his memories of building a slingshot on the roof of the South College dorm, his gratitude for his strong liberal arts education and his appreciation for how the school has become more diverse since his time as a student. Check it out below!
Congratulations to the class of 2022!
