Levi Strauss & Co. is honored to be recognized this month by Forbes in its inaugural ranking of the World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies.
Forbes teamed up with market research company Statista to identify companies leading the way in supporting women inside and outside their workforces. The list was compiled by surveying 85,000 women in 40 countries who were asked to rate their employers on criteria such as pay equity and parental leave.
“We’re honored to be ranked among such great companies and it’s exciting to see our efforts be recognized,” said LS&Co. Chief Human Resources Officer Tracy Layney. “We’ve worked hard to institute policies and benefits designed to support women in our organization as they navigate the pandemic and beyond. At LS&Co., we’re committed to creating a truly diverse, equitable and inclusive company and culture.”
As a testament to that commitment, our company implemented a stronger paid family leave policy and extended paid sick leave to part-time retail employees in 2020. In addition to taking a stronger stance in supporting national paid leave legislation, we updated our bereavement policy this year from three days to two weeks and expanded it to cover pregnancy loss.
We have also put well-being at the forefront, leaning on our partners like Thrive Global to help our employees. Our employee resource groups (ERGs) — such as Rivet, our women’s ERG, and our ERG for families with disabilities — are in place for additional support and community. We are also proud to have an ERG focused on mental health that’s working to fight the stigma from within the company and provide a place to discuss benefits and resources.
