The following abridged message was originally shared with employees today from Marc Rosen, executive vice president and president of Levi Strauss Americas.
These last few months have been some of the most uncertain and trying times in all of our careers. We’ve found this to be even more true for our retail store stylists and those who work in our distribution centers – the employees serving as LS&Co.’s frontline workers.
As we prepare for the peak holiday selling season, we want to acknowledge that this has been a year like no other. Our retail store and distribution center employees have had to adjust to new ways of working and new protocols for interacting with consumers, and they have done so with amazing care and agility. As a small sign of our gratitude, acknowledging the teams’ ongoing dedication and commitment to our business, we are giving our retail stylists and warehouse workers the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday off.
Although our doors may be closed for the day, consumers will still be able to shop our brands. Our loyal fans can shop online at our ecommerce sites and on our loyalty app. There, consumers may find special promotions and exclusives only available on our digital channels.
We will reopen all of our retail stores on Black Friday while continuing to safely maintain operations using our COVID-19 safety policies and procedures.
Throughout this global pandemic, the safety and well-being of our employees has remained our most important priority. We made sure all had access to wellness benefits – including paid sick leave – to keep themselves, their families, their friends and our consumers healthy.
We wouldn’t be able to ship and sell our iconic product if it weren’t for our retail and distribution employees coming into our stores and warehouses every day. This Thanksgiving we honor our frontline workers, for whom we all are truly grateful.
